This is a thread to discuss the Skinner Oil Rectifier that was mounted on a number of the late cars. There is a service bulletin in the library section of our website.
These are pictures from chassis H1161 provided by Bill Frye.
I have Skinner oil rectifier questions:
1) Are the copper washers on the manifold T bolts and canister banjo fittings supposed to be solid soft copper, or the hollow crush gasket type?
2) Does anyone have a source for them?

Anyone have a hint of how to get the rectifyer out of the exhaust manifold? I've followed the directions, but mine is STUCK!
Roger, I'll ask Ed @Edinmass to see if he can say something intelligent. Need to look at the list but I think only the 29 cars have the rectifier.
Have not heard back yet from Ed. I did see this quote in service bulletin 55 Page 5:
How to Remove the Rectifier: Disconnect the three pipes from the unit and remove the four nuts from the studs holding the Rectifier in its casing. This will allow the Rectifier to be dropped down vertically and removed.
And probably late 29 at that. Mine and Bob Gerdes 29 H's don't. I believe his J does but I think that might be the newest car by serial number.
Bob's 29 J has a Skinner.
Thanks AJ. I found the same service instructions and followed them, but the unit is rusted/stuck in the manifold extension. The photos in this string show the extension removed. I might have to do that too, and use an electrolysis bath to free things up.
You might have to. Soaking it in ATF might work too but I don't know who to do that when what you are trying to soak is upside down. Post some photos if you can.
